From Rags to Riches, Is it Possible??

The universal theme of being the underdog and then becoming popular and famous seems to always find it's way into fiction. A prime example of that is Cinderella. Everyone knows about the mistreated poor sister that went from a nobody to a somebody at the hands of the fairy godmother, but how true is that in our american society?

It is very real.

We live in a society where being rich and famous is seen as a life long dream, the American Dream has been existing way before i was born and yet the ideology is still here. There are many examples of people who have went from poor to rich, look at Oprah Winfrey. She went from barely making a living to being the top paid black woman talk show host in the world.

But being poor to rich isn't always good for plenty of reasons. Take Bhad Bhabie as an example. This 15 year old girl who got rich and famous off of saying "cash me outside" on Dr. Phil. Her "success" is a mockery of black culture because she clearly acts how we act but somehow she gets famous because of it? The rules to success are getting more available but not available to minorities as much. It's not impossible to get riches but it's not easy for everyone.

It's also not just about famous recognition. Many women get rich by marrying to an old rich white male as an easy way out or a way to support their family. Being married off in other countries are typically to rich men because the family needs it.

So yes, it is possible but it's either not that easy or it's at an expense of something in return.
